Your host will usually do the cooking, but if you do cook or you help here are some suggestions:
- If you fry foods try not to let the grease spatter. If it does, clean it up.
- Use water sparingly.
- Use the galley fans if available - ask your host for specific guidelines. Also open the hatch so any steam can leave the cabin quickly.
- Picking up after a meal and stacking the dishes ready to be washed is always appreciated. Volunteering to wash is also welcome. If your host says yes, you should get specific instructions as to water consumption and how and where the pots, pans and dishes are stowed so they do not clatter about and make a mess when the boat moves.
